Who We Are

We base our relationship with you on honesty, responsibility, and superior customer service.
By doing so, we have cultivated a broad and loyal clientele and have been successfully operating our pet sitting and dog walking business in Jackson, Howell, Lakewood and surrounding areas for over 18 years.  On average, that's four times longer than other local pet sitters!
Our goals though, have always remained the same; we strive to provide loving, expert care for pets, and superior, reliable, customer service to you.  Pet care is a full-time career for us both, not a "side job" to earn some extra money, and it's a life we love and enjoy.  We appreciate our clients and value the trust you've placed in us with the care of your four-legged family members.

We are a husband and wife team both professionally trained by veterinarians and experienced in all levels of pet care including emergency, medicating, medical treatment, nutrition and behavior.  We are familiar with common diseases, their treatments and medications, and know the warning signs of problems associated with them.  We are also uniquely qualified to do what others can't- procedures such as subcutaneous ("sub-Q") fluid therapy and blood glucose monitoring.  We're experienced with all animal personality types and can deal with even the most "difficult" pets that would not tolerate handling in an unfamiliar environment such as a kennel.  Together, we have gained hundreds of hours of continuing education in technical skills, animal diseases, and animal behavior by attending numerous state, regional, and national veterinary conferences and years upon years of training in veterinary hospital settings.

Our special team has double the benefits to you and your pets:  Two pet sitters means twice the flexibility in accommodating your schedules, an experienced backup sitter is always available, you often have both of us visiting your pets (two for the price of one!), and your pets have the advantage of twice the knowledge and experience at their disposal.

Chris Kovach became a New Jersey Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in1999.  He began a career of caring for pets at Jersey Shore Animal Center, before working as a veterinary assistant at Shrewsbury Animal Hospital.  He then became a veterinary technician and went on to become Practice Manager of Jackson Veterinary Clinic in Jackson and then worked as part of the administration staff at NorthStar VETS. His sole career for the past 26 years has involved caring for and learning about pets, with special interests in pet wellness and senior care.

Missy Kovach has over 20 years professional experience with pets big and small.  She has worked as a veterinary assistant at both Cedars Veterinary Hospital in Brick and Small Animal Veterinary Associates in Toms River.  She's also owned and cared for horses of her own and others- being on the management staff at Howell Equestrian Center and caring for over 60 horses there.  Her special interests are animal behavior and training.

Of course, we have many pets of our own: Two dogs- best friends Pinky and Pippy (a happy Westie & snuggly Chihuahua), five cats (Boo Boo, Dexter, Rosie, Minnie & Moosie), 2 lizards, a turtle, a guinea pig, and love feeding wild birds.
